Plot:
As Halloween nears, the Griffins visit the local pumpkin patch. While waiting in line for face-painting, Stewie hears "Monster Mash" on the radio and bemoans the lack of original Halloween songs. After having to hear it again later, he and Brian decide to write a Halloween song of their own. They initially agree on a Halloween-themed spoof of "We Didn't Start the Fire" and prepare to record it. However, Stewie gets completely wrapped up in the songwriter lifestyle, causing Brian to bail on the project.
Meanwhile, after Lois mandates Chris to stay home and hand out candy, he and Peter decide to secretly trick-or-treat outside of town alongside Cleveland, Joe, and Quagmire, under the guise of being at "the game." With help from Bonnie and Donna, Lois deduces that the four snuck out. While out on the road, the guys are apprehended by masked serial killers who chase them into a cottage in the woods, where another figure knocks them out with drugged hot chocolate. Peter expresses remorse for lying to Lois and dragging Chris into it before the killers unmask, revealing themselves to be the wives. Lois reveals that setting up the prank restored her Halloween spirit, just as Stewie and Brian arrive to perform their new song.
