The Academy Awards (frequently known as the Oscars) are accolades by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry, including directors, actors, and writers. The formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in the world.

In "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater", it was revealed Brian Griffin pulled some strings in 1992 to help Marisa Tomei win her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mona Lisa Vito in My Cousin Vinny. Jack Nicholson was also in attendance.

In "April in Quahog", Peter Griffin had to prove he votes in elections by reminding Brian that he stuffed the Oscar ballots so that the Red Guy would win the Academy Award for Best Actor.
