Arthur Ira "Art" Garfunkel (born November 5, 1941) is an American singer, poet, and actor, best known as half of the folk duo Simon & Garfunkel. In particular, he is remembered for being the lead singer on the #1 hit single, "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Highlights of his solo career include a top ten hit, three top twenty hits, six top forty hits, fourteen Adult Contemporary top 30 singles, Five Adult Contemporary number ones, two UK number ones, a Golden Globe nomination and a People's Choice Award.

In "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Bucks", Garfunkel is seen playing his guitar and singing at Washington Square Park.

Mort Goldman was called by Garfunkel's name by a Nazi officer in "Road to Germany".

In "The Big Bang Theory", Stewie calls Brian the universe's version of Art Garfunkel.

Quagmire reconciles with Peter in "In Harmony's Way" asking him what was Paul Simon without Art Garfunkle, to which Peter replies "Wildly successful?". In addition, "Homeward Bound" by Simon & Garfunkel plays as Peter and Quagmire go on tour.

When Peter brags about being a natural leader and being in charge of "Simon says" in "The Peter Principal", it sets up a cutaway of Peter enforcing Paul Simon kicking Art out of their band.
