Bing Crosby

Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (May 3, 1903 – October 14, 1977) was an American popular singer and actor. He was the star of numerous 'Road to...' movies with Bob Hope. After Crosby's death in 1977, his eldest son, Gary, wrote a highly critical memoir, Going My Own Way, depicting his father as cold, remote, and both physically and psychologically abusive, reportedly beating them with a sack of oranges.

In "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Bucks", Crosby claims that the easiest way for a child to be obedient to a parent is by beating them with a sack of sweet Valencia oranges. He proceeds to beat Peter Griffin with his belt for refusing to do that to his son Chris. This prompted Peter to yell out at him to leave him alone, calling him a "dead crooner".

In "Petarded", Peter, trying to convince the court that he shouldn't lose custody of his children despite being mentally retarded, mentions Crosby, along with Joan Crawford and John & Patricia Ramsey, as unfit parents who get to keep their children.
