Blockbuster LLC, formerly known as Blockbuster Video, was an American-based provider of home movie and video game rental services. Services were offered primarily at video rental shops, but later alternatives included DVD-by-mail, streaming, video on demand, and cinema theater.
The company eventually ended up under the control of Dish Network, but Blockbuster stores could remain open by paying a licensing fee to Dish. Without a corporate entity to provide supplies of branded products, The remaining stores eventually closed except for the single one in Bend, Oregon, which remains the only one still in operation.
Lackluster Video in "Stewie B. Goode"/Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story is a parody of Blockbuster.
