* As Darth Vader/Stewie boards Leia's ship and looks for the plans, Leia/Lois has hidden it in "one of these 26 briefcases" in imitation of the game show Deal or No Deal. As in the game show, the contestant wins very little money but nevertheless, Vader/Stewie is "just happy to be on TV".

* When C-3PO/Quagmire turns on the radio in Luke/Chris' speeder, the show on the air is Rush Limbaugh's radio talk show. Limbaugh is a noted Republican that dislikes affirmative action, which he blames for the posting of Lando Calrissian, a black man, as head of Bespin. In the radio show, Limbaugh also disregards worries about 'Hoth melting', an reference to his stance on the polar ice cap melting and global warming debate.

* A minor dig at the physics consultant for Episode IV, 'Luke' points out in the Mos Eisley cantina that Solo's statement regarding the speed of the Falcon is erroneous- the parsec is a measure of distance, not time.

* The music, which is played when the characters leave the Millennium Falcon after arriving at the Death Star, is the beginning of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher", as performed in The Blues Brothers movie. Also the way they walk is reminiscent of how the Blues Brothers walked while trying to sneak into the theater during the "Minnie the Moocher" scene in their movie.
**George Lucas' explanation of the original line is that the Falcon has a far more accurate computer than most ships. This allows it to make light speed jumps through the Kessel run, a series of stars, planets and black holes that make astro-navigation difficult, in less distance than most ships. He also states than Han might be messing with Obi-Wan and Luke at this point, attempting to confuse them.

* The dance scene and musical number that occurs immediately after the 'Minnie the Moocher' reference is a recreation of the final dance from the film Dirty Dancing.
* Peter/Han comments from the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon that hyperspace always looks weird to him; the visuals (and music) are a clip of the mid-70's version of the opening credits of the television show Doctor Who; the slit-scan video effect used to create the "vortex tunnel" in those credits has a similar appearance to the hyperspace visual used in Star Wars.

While Peter expresses his dislike for Robot Chicken, Chris defends it. Not coincidentally, Chris is voiced by Seth Green, who is a creator and cast member of Robot Chicken. Cartoon Network airs second-night showings of Family Guy in the hour before Robot Chicken comes on. It was basically the creator of Family Guy; Seth Macfarlane and the creator of Robot Chicken; Seth Green fighting with each other about Robot Chicken. Oddly enough, Seth Macfarlane provides a lot of the voice acting on Robot Chicken and is the same voice as Peter.
