  • At one point during the, rebel vs. stormtrooper scene, one of the fallen rebels says "damn! just two more days before retirement!", this was a reference to a common cliche in action films where the main protagonist's minority-status best friend/partner is gunned down by the antagonists a few days before retirement.
  • As Darth Vader/Stewie boards Leia's ship and looks for the plans, Leia/Lois has hidden it in "one of these 26 briefcases" in imitation of the game show Deal or No Deal. As in the game show, the contestant wins very little money but nevertheless, Vader/Stewie is "just happy to be on TV".
  • When the Jawas exchange cans of Grey Poupon mustard, the writers are making a reference to a series of ads during the 90's where a pair of wealthy men being chauffeured would pull up next to one another at a stoplight and one would ask the other for a jar of Grey Poupon.
  • When C-3PO/Quagmire turns on the radio in Luke/Chris's speeder, the show on the air is Rush Limbaugh's radio talk show. Limbaugh is a noted Republican that dislikes affirmative action, which he blames for the posting of Lando Calrissian, a black man, as head of Bespin. In the radio show, Limbaugh also disregards worries about 'Hoth melting', an reference to his stance on the polar ice cap melting and global warming debate.
  • When Luke/Chris is accosted in the Cantina by the two aliens; Pignose and Scott, Luke replies 'You don't even known me!' to their derision. In Deep Rising, a character is addressed in the same fashion- "I don't like you." "You don't even know me!".
  • When the Falcon emerges into the asteroid field, they are viewing the vintage computer game 'Asteroids'.
  • The music, which is played when the characters leave the Millennium Falcon after arriving at the Death Star, is the beginning of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher", as performed in The Blues Brothers movie. Also the way they walk is reminiscent of how the Blues Brothers walked while trying to sneak into the theater during the "Minnie the Moocher" scene in their movie.
  • The dance scene and musical number that occurs immediately after the 'Minnie the Moocher' reference is a recreation of the final dance from the film Dirty Dancing.
  • During the TIE fighter attack on the Millennium Falcon, a man appears and says "I just wanted to say 'Good luck' and we're all counting on you". This is a reference to the 1980 comedy 'Airplane!', starring Leslie Nielsen.
  • Redd Fox's death is a quote of his famous line from Sanford and Son- I'm comin' Elizabeth!
  • When R2 is hit by Darth Vader, he calls himself R-Tupac, in reference to the rapper.
  • When Quagmire jumps out towards Lois towards the end of the episode and says "And Leia is getting larger!", this is another reference to the 1980 film 'Airplane!'.
  • The character General Dodonna tells one of the Rebels, "Don't mess with the bull, young man, you'll get the horns," a reference to The Breakfast Club.
  • At one point during the final battle Chevy Chase and the Griswolds appear in their car. This is in reference to the National Lampoon'Vacation films where Chevy drives his family everywhere showing them all the sights.
  • When Brian/Chewbacca says "Always gargle before a take-off. Wocka-wocka!". "Wocka-wocka" is Fozzie Bear's catchphrase.
  • A stoned C3PO asks about the empire falling is a reference to Mel Brooks History of the World Part One when the Roman soldiers are stoned after the chase scene.
