  • While in a truck driving in the countryside, Brian runs over writer Dean Koontz, supposed competitor to writer Stephen King. This references Stephen King's accident in 1999 when he was hit by a minivan.
  • While on the psychiatrist's couch, Brian says "You know I've never been to Europe?" The same line is stated by Lily Tomlin's character in the film All Of Me.
  • Charles Lindbergh is shown with his baby on the toilet who gets flushed down the toilet. This is a joke against the 1932 kidnapping and murder of the Lindbergh baby. He is later alerted that "Amelia saw it happen" pointing to Amelia Earheart. He then says "You let me handle it..." which references to the mysterious disappearance of Amelia Earheart.
  • Bob Barker is shown on The Price is Right saying "Remember to help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered." This is a common phrase Barker says at the end of each Price is Right show.
