- Peter dressed as a talk show host is a reference to Johnny Carson, the Tonight Show host. Tonight Show producer Fred de Cordova is listed as the producer in ending credits, and a Carson Entertainment style logo is shown.[2]
- When Chris makes a collage of things that Taylor Swift likes, one of the things included is Kanye West with his mouth closed. This is referencing Kanye's interruption of Taylor at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
- Stewie mentions abusing caffeine pills, leading to a cutaway that parallels an episode of Saved by the Bell where Stewie is filling as character Jessie Spano. At the end of the cutaway, Stewie says, "Screech is going to stab somebody on Christmas." This is referencing a December 26, 2014 incident where actor Dustin Diamond, who plays character Samuel "Screech" Powers, was arrested for in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin on a charge of stabbing another man.[3]
