Dale was Abraham Lincoln's neighbor, as seen in "The Man with Two Brians". When Lincoln mentions that his lawn hasn't been kept well, Dale reminds him that he had a slave mow the lawn for him, and because Lincoln freed the slave, the lawn has attained its current condition.
