Emily Jane Brontë (July 30, 1818 — December 19, 1848) was an English novelist and poetess, now best remembered for her only novel, Wuthering Heights. Emily was the second eldest of the three surviving Brontë sisters, between Charlotte Brontë and Anne Brontë.
