Family Guy Wiki:Policies and guidelines

Family Guy Wiki has some policies that have been formulated by the administrators of the site, either on their own or at the suggestion of various members. Please read through the policies below to familiarize yourself with our common practices and rules. If you have any questions, suggestions, or complaints, please post them on the talk page. The following are general policies regarding various facets of the Family Guy Wiki:

Family Guy and the other animated shows to date of Fuzzy Door Productions are considered "shows-within-shows" with the characters being actors in a production. As such, nothing is canon and the term is discouraged from use. Characters will sometimes recall previous events at the whim of the writers and can ignore previous events at any time. The point of this wiki is to document happenings in various episodes without regard to how they affect reality.

What the Family Guy Wiki is about

The Family Guy Wiki is a reference tool dedicated to providing an encyclopedia on the Family Guy series. This is not a discussion site, a chat server, or anything else. Any personal messages should remain off of informative articles and their respective talk pages, as these pages are reserved for fact checking or operations discussions.

Due to the work involved with plot summaries and providing episode information for Family Guy and American Dad, editors are asked to refrain from editing pages unrelated to new episodes on those nights.
