New cartoon satirizes the Royal family

Producer Gary Janetti is helming a new animated cartoon titled The Prince for HBO Max which looks at the Royal family though the eyes of Prince George, eldest son of Prince William and Princess Kate. Orlando Bloom, Iwan Rheon and Alan Cumming are lending their voices to the show. [1]

From the 2019 San Diego Comic Con: Seth MacFarlane expressed amazement at the show lasting as long as it had, and admitted that in today's culture, the show probably wouldn't have gotten off the ground to begin with. Alex Borstein and Mike Henry sung a duet of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" in character as Lois and Herbert. The movie is still in the works and when asked if there might be a Brian and Stewie spin-off, Seth admitted that it wasn't likely, as that would mean the end of Family Guy and he didn't see that happening anytime soon.

Alex Borstein won a creative arts Emmy for her voice-over performance of Lois, Barbara Pewterschmidt and nanny Natalia in "Nanny Goats", beating Seth MacFarlane who had two nominations in the same category for "Send in Stewie, Please" and American Dad!'s "The Talented Mr. Dingleberry".[4]

TVLine has our first look at Family Guy's San Diego Comic-Con poster for the new season for the episode to be titled "Big Trouble in Little Quahog", a likely re-titling of "Shrinky Dinks".[7] The Family Guy panel will be at 1pm Pacific time (4pm Eastern) on Saturday, July 21st.

Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein are both bidding for consideration for Emmy's "Best Character Voice-Over Performance." Seth for his performance in "Send in Stewie, Please" and Alex for voicing Natalia, as well as Lois and Barbara Pewterschmidt in "Nanny Goats". Finalists to be announced July 12th.[8]
Update Seth and Alex will go head-to-head as both were accepted, Seth twice for both "Send in Stewie, Please" as well as American Dad! "The Talented Mr. Dingleberry". They will compete against Russi Taylor for The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular and The Simpsons Dan Castellaneta in "Fears of a Clown".

Various interviews with showrunners Richard Appel and Alec Sulkin have revealed some details about the new season, set to start September 30th. The season will premiere with a two-part episode in which Brian gets married. A special tribute episode to Adam West will also be shown. Quagmire discovers he has a daughter to be voiced by Mandy Moore of Tangled fame, while Lois discovers that the reason Peter makes more money than she does is because he still pays alimony to his first wife, Sarah Paulson who voices herself. Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir gust star in "Griffin Winter Games", a tribute to last year's games in South Korea.[9]

The annual Emmy screener has been mailed and this years theme is "We predicted Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein. Open DVD to see who’s next," taking advantage of having cracked sexual predator jokes about the pair for years. The two episodes provided are "Dog Bites Bear" and "Send in Stewie, Please". Inside of the package is a mirror, suggesting that the next sexual deviant is the viewer themselves.

During the Television Critics Association winter press tour, showrunner Richard Appel noted that the writers have pitched a script where the cast of Family Guy ends up on "the bridge of The Orville." He said they've sent it to (Seth) MacFarlane for approval but no word if it will be approved.[10]

Seth Green almost killed host Rob Paulsen with his reading of Anakin Skywalker as Family Guy‘s high-strung but dim-witted teenage son, Chris on Toon Talk. The two recreated Revenge of the Sith‘s epic final showdown between the newest Sith Lord and Obi-Wan, played by Rob as Pinky from Animaniacs, with Rob for cracking up throughout this whole scene.[11]

There hasn't really been any doubt since producer Kara Vallow posted an image of the script for "HTTPete" last December, but FOX has acknowledged the return of Family Guy for the 2017-2018 season. Getting the ax are two ratings leaches, Son of Zorn and Making History. Perhaps Seth MacFarlane's Orville, a live action sci-fi comedy, will be a success and not Quark on impact. The new series Ghosted will be taking the middle slot between The Simpsons and Family Guy. The Orville is scheduled for Thursday nights.

According to Collider.com, FOX is working with Seth MacFarlane to develop a thirteen-episode series of a spaceship crew that is not exactly the best and the brightest in their fleet. The live-action series will not only feature Seth as executive producer, along with Dana Walden and Gary Newman, but he will star as well and has written the introductory script.

As part of a multi-year deal with Twentieth Century Fox, ITV has also picked up the rights to new and existing seasons of American Dad!, The Cleveland Show, and the upcoming animated sitcom, Bordertown.[27]
