Fox News Channel (FNC) is an American cable news and satellite channel owned by the Fox Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of News Corporation. As of April 2009, it is available to 102 million households in the U.S. and further to viewers internationally, broadcasting primarily out of its New York City studios.

The channel was created by Australia-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who hired Roger Ailes as its founding CEO. The channel was launched on October 7, 1996 to 17 million cable subscribers. The network slowly rose to prominence in the late 1990s. In terms of regular viewers (Nielsen Ratings), Fox News rates as the United States' number one cable news network.

Many observers say that Fox News Channel's programming promotes conservative political positions. Fox News Channel publicly denies any bias in the channel's reporting.

Fox News is featured prominently in FOX-y Lady. Lois takes a job at the studio as a reporter despite Brian's warnings that Fox News is a biased network. Her first assignment is to out Michael Moore, but she discovers that Moore is apparently gay with Rush Limbaugh. Lois soon realizes that Brian was right about Fox News and decides to do the report anyway to embarrass Limbaugh, but Lois and Brian discover that Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore are actually Fred Savage, who is established as the greatest actor in the history of the world. At the end of the episode, Lois is back at home with the family and doesn't bother to explain how she lost her job since the story's over.

News staff featured in many Family Guy episodes include Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter and fictitious news anchor, Rhonda Latimer.
