Francine "Fran" Joy Drescher (born September 30, 1957) is an American film and television actress, comedian, and activist. Drescher is best known for playing Fran Fine on the television series, The Nanny, for which she was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globe Awards, and is most recognizable for her strong Queens, NY accent.
She appears as one of the celebrity squares on Hollywood Squares in "If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin'".
She played Lois Griffin in later episodes of The Real Live Griffins after the real family quits in "Fifteen Minutes of Shame".
Parodying Gremlins in "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou", Peter Griffin feeds a mogwai a drumstick after midnight, causing it to turn into Drescher, whose head Peter then microwaves.
The Nanny is mentioned in "The Return of the King (of Queens)" when Peter lists television shows in which the pilot episode features a trope of someone showing up on a doorstep.
Fran is voiced by Alex Borstein.
