Greg Gumbel (born May 3, 1946) is an American television sportscaster. He is best known for his various assignments on CBS. The brother of news and sportscaster Bryant Gumbel, he became the first African-American announcer to call play-by-play of a major sports championship in the United States when he announced Super Bowl XXXV for CBS in 2001.
In "If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin'", he stars with his brother in Gumbel 2 Gumbel Beach Justice, a fictional crime drama that aired on NBC. Peter Griffin becomes very upset when the network cancels the show. He has his son Chris fake a terminal illness so his wish to have the show put back on the air could be granted.
