"Halfway Down the Stairs" was originally sung by Robin the Frog in The Muppet Show.
Peter sings "Halfway Down the Stairs" in "You Can't Handle the Booth!" while his head is trapped in the stair railings, acknowledging it was a homage to Robin's song in a mock DVD commentary of the episode. Later in the same episode when the rest of the family is stuck the same way, they are robbed by burglars who have a party in their home and sing the song again on a karaoke machine bought with Brian's credit card.
Lyrics[]
- Halfway down the stairs is a stair where I sit
- There isn't any other stair quite like it
- I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top
- So this is the stair where I always stop
- Halfway up the stairs isn't up and isn't down
- It isn't in the nursery, it isn't in the town
- And all sorts of funny thoughts they run through my head
- It isn't really anywhere, it's somewhere else instead
- Halfway down the stairs is a stair where I sit
- There isn't any other stair quite like it
- I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top
- So this is the stair where I always stop
