  • This episode marks the official return of Cleveland Brown to Quahog following the cancellation of his spin-off, which gets roasted by Joe, Quagmire and Peter. From this episode onwards, Cleveland replaces Mort Goldman in the opening.
    • When Cleveland returns, the trumpet notes to the beginning of The Cleveland Show theme song are heard.
  • This is the second episode to mention creator Seth MacFarlane following the ending of "It's A Trap!".
  • Meg has no lines in this episode.
  • Susie Swanson turns 1 year old.
  • Peter flushes the toilet to Foghat's song "Slow Ride" when bored. The Evil Monkey listened to the same song when the family left to go visit Lois' parents in "Model Misbehavior".
  • The episode makes a meta-joke of Lois frequently being misspelled as "Louis" by fans.[1][2][3]
  • During Peter's flashback sequence, clips from "Meet the Quagmires", "Don't Make Me Over", "Brian the Bachelor", "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou" and two clips from "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" are shown, as well as Tom Selleck and Roger E. Mosley from Magnum, P.I..
  • Cleveland says that his spin-off did the same as Bob's Burgers in terms of ratings and reception.
  • Stewie calls Rallo Tubbs a rip-off of The Boondocks, another adult animated series starring a main cast of African-American characters.
  • As the race ends and the two one-legged guys pass Peter and Cleveland, music evocative of the theme to Chariots of Fire by Vangelis plays.
  • Lois is against spanking in this episode, but in "Stuck Together, Torn Apart", she tells Peter to give Chris a spanking when he breaks a vase.
