This is an reference to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his famous Playboy Mansion parties. Stewie is called Griff by guest James Caan who punches a girl in the face, a reference to his history of playing violent characters as well as the fact that in 1980, Caan was charged with beating his ex-wife Sheila Ryan after she told him she planned to remarry.

However, it wasn't Wilford Brimley but actor Bob Crane who was murdered in 1978. The reference to the oatmeal comes from Wilford Brimley's commercials for the Quaker Oats brand. The reference to semen comes from the evidence of semen found on Bob Crane's dead body.

- When Peter couldn’t stop staring at the mirror and has an accident as a result, it parallels Narcissus, a man in Greek mythology who fell in love with himself and drowned to death in a pool of water that reflected his own image.
