Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a 1984 adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is the second film in the Indiana Jones franchise, and prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). After arriving in India, Indiana Jones is asked by a desperate village to find a mystical stone. He agrees, stumbling upon a Kālī Thuggee religious cult plotting child slavery, black magic and ritual human sacrifice.
In "Fifteen Minutes of Shame", Peter threatens Meg by refusing to give her the antidote to poison in a reference to the film.
In "The Courtship of Stewie's Father", Stewie and Peter dress like Indy and Short Round. The sequence including an Arab chasing Peter and Stewie and Michael Eisner reciting Mola Ram's heart-stealing chant, only to get pushed off a cliff and eaten by crocodiles in the same manner also parodies the film.
Indiana and Stewie as Short Round appear in a cutaway in "Stewie B. Goode" when Stewie decides learning how to swim isn't as bad as the summer he spent in India.
During a fight between Peter and Brian in "Play It Again, Brian", Peter holds a keg above his head with the intent to hit Brian with it, and is kicked in the genitals, at which time the keg falls on his head. A similar fight happened in the film, when an Indian cult member was subject to it during a fight with Jones.
In "Road to Germany", Brian, Stewie and Mort's escape from their plane via a life raft parodies a scene from the film. Before jumping out in the life raft, Stewie says Willie Scott's line about not sinking and the plane crashes in the same manner.
In "Family Goy", Stewie recited the chant as an extension of a Jewish prayer, using Meg as his victim.
The film is also mentioned in "April in Quahog" when Peter confesses that he sometimes wishes his children would get kidnapped and be forced to work in the Temple of Doom.
