- Lois says she is cutting loose just like “Julie Andrews in that movie where she shows her breasts,” leading to a cutaway of Mary Poppins in which Andrews inexplicably opens her blouse. In reality, the movie Lois is referring to is the 1981 film S.O.B..
- In a self-referential joke, Peter scoffs at the network for allowing violence, which results in the show’s budget cuts, as shown when Peter stiffly wobbles into the kitchen for a beer.
- In “Road to Rupert”, Stewie mentions Jack's Joke Shop, and tells a bad joke he bought at the shop.
- In this episode, Stewie planted a time bomb in Lois' uterus, that will explode when she reaches her 50th birthday, which would be 10 years later from that point; however, in "Stu & Stewie's Excellent Adventure" which takes place 30 years later, Lois is still alive; although in the DVD version of The Untold Story, it is shown that it was actually a film starring the Griffins.

- When Peter holds a "Fight the ass kicking wife stand" Lois says she's not a sideshow attraction anymore. Then it shows a clip of Lois as a midget cave person bouncing on a trampoline chanting "Me Likey Bouncy!". Later at The Drunken Clam, Peter offers to take her to the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant. Lois starts chanting "Me Likey Breadsticks!" before getting herself under control.
