Magnum, P.I. is an American television show starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator living in Oahu, Hawaii. The series ran from 1980 to 1988 in first-run broadcast on CBS.
In "Da Boom", Lois Griffin distastefully reminisces about the food they had wasted. A cutaway shows her husband Peter attempting to spoon feed Tom Selleck on the television screen. When the scene cuts to Higgins, Peter reprimands him.
In "Stuck Together, Torn Apart", Magnum calls Higgins "Tattoo", referencing Hervé Villechaize on Fantasy Island. When Higgins corrects him, Magnum starts hitting Higgins until Higgins is subdued into remaining as Tattoo.
Peter is convinced that Joe's Mark Spitz costume in "Love, Blactually" is Magnum.
Magnum P.I. is parodied or spun off as Magnum B.M. in the Misery segment of "Three Kings" with Higgins finding brown prints and Magnum admitting it might be him.
Roger E. Mosley and Tom Selleck appear in a live action clip from Magnum as Peter has to face the possibility of being unable to see his own black friend Cleveland Brown, in "He's Bla-ack!".
Both Magnum and Higgins are voiced by Chris Cox.
