- McBurgertown is a parody of worldwide fast-food company McDonald's and similar fast-food multinational chains.
- The plot of Peter eating 30 hamburgers and getting a stroke is similar to the 2004 documentary film Super Size Me, in which Morgan Spurlock portrays the health detriments of eating nothing but McDonald's for an entire month.
