Modern Family is an American television sitcom that debuted on ABC on September 23, 2009. The program follows the lives of Jay Pritchett and his family, all of whom live in suburban Los Angeles. Pritchett's family includes his second wife, his stepson, and infant son, as well his two adult children and their spouses and children.

At the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards on August 29th, Stewie appeared in a live-action skit with the cast of Modern Family.[1]

"Total Recall" features a special opening in the style of Modern Family.

While in Italy in "Boopa-Dee Bappa-Dee", Peter Griffin attempts to use the guide on the television remote, turning Stewie into a host of past and present Animation Domination characters as well as Manny Delgado from Modern Family.

Peter breaks the Fourth wall after a cutaway gag with the pedophile opera in "3 Acts of God" by expressing his anger at the audience for still not giving Family Guy an Emmy Award and pointing out that Modern Family would've been lauded for it.

The Griffins watch a All in the Family/Modern Family crossover episode in "The Simpsons Guy". When Claire Dunphy brings hummus, Archie jokingly points at gay couple Mitchell and Cameron claiming he thought they were the hummus.

Peter notes that a kid in a commercial audition was texting Manny in "The Peanut Butter Kid".

In order to get his old job back on Family Guy after he is fired and replaced by David Spade in "Inside Family Guy", Peter gets Sofia Vergara deported so Spade can take her place.

When Peter is asked if his son is a biolog in "How the Griffin stole Christmas" he says that he hasn't in fact watched Modern Family.

Family Guy incorporates several bits of Modern Family in an attempt to win a comedy Emmy in "Emmy-Winning Episode".

Chris gets upset in "The First No L" because Lois wanted to record The Crown instead of allowing him to watch Modern Family.

Lois grabs Chris by the throat for starting to suggest that her fit figure in "Mister Act" makes her look like Madonna. He quickly revises it to 'the mom on Modern Family'.
