Oksana Baiul (born November 16, 1977) is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater. She is the 1993 World champion and the 1994 Olympic champion in ladies' singles. In January 1997, Baiul was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing her car into a tree in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The charges were later dropped after she met the terms of probation and completed an alcohol education program. Her drinking problem worsened, and in May 1997, she entered an alcohol rehabilitation program.
In "Wasted Talent", a lyric of the song "Pure Inebriation" stated that if one drinks Pawtucket Patriot Ale, they'll drive drunker than Oksana Baiul.
After confusing Tara Lipinski for Oksana's drinking problem in "Griffin Winter Games", Brian points out to Stewie that "Oksana Baiul" sounds like something Gandalf would say. A cutaway gag shows Gandalf opening a doorway but calling out "Oksana Baiul," who appears and drunkenly smashes down the door with her car before staggering away while swigging from a bottle.
