- "Pimp Stewie's" female associate bears some similarities to another woman that escorted him to a prizefight in "It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One", notably some of the features and hoop earrings.
- It is revealed that Peter abuses Meg due to the abuse he experienced from his sister, as well as his parents' refusal to intercede.
- "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang plays during Meg's flashback montage.
- Joe introduces Steven Seagal as an old friend of his. Joe was previously shown to be watching one of Segal's films in "E. Peterbus Unum".
- Meg's flashback consists of clips from "I Take Thee Quagmire" and the exploding watermelon, Peter striking Meg with a baseball bat from "Untitled Griffin Family History", Peter farting in Meg's face in "Tales of a Third Grade Nothing", tripping Meg in "Peter's Daughter", using Meg for rodeo practice in "Dial Meg for Murder", spewing milk in "Peter's Got Woods" and picking his nose and wiping it on Meg in "Stewie Kills Lois".
- Peter and Karen have a fight at the New Haven Coliseum. In reality, the coliseum was a different design and was demolished in 2007.
- As in the cutaway, a 1971 essay by writer Larry Niven titled Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex speculates that as a result of Superman having sex with Lois Lane, the top of her head would be blown off by the resulting force of his ejaculation.[1]
- The DVD commentary reports that "Chico's Monkey Farm" had been produced and on hold for nearly ten years before landing a space in this episode. In the ensuing time, the aspect ratio had changed and new animation had to be added to correct it. Its delay was attributed to repeated nixings by Seth MacFarlane who finally granted its inclusion.
- Also, a planned B-story of Brian and Stewie going on a Thanksgiving "cleanse"[2] was dropped for time, to be revisited in a future episode.
- Commentary also reported that the Jack Skellington cutaway was once considered for stop-motion animation in the style of the original, but was dropped due to the cost.
