  • This is the first episode to not have a sequence before the opening credits.
  • Meg says Chris is adopted. This though is contrary to another episode, where a newspaper article has a picture of an exhausted Lois, having given birth to a huge baby (Chris), under the headline "Elephant Child born to Local Woman". Also, in Play It Again, Brian, Stewie said that after giving birth to Chris, Lois' vagina was so wide he was able to walk out. However, it is likely that Meg was lying to Chris.
  • In the scene of Brian at the Academy Awards, he is seated next to Jack Nicholson
  • During the musical number, "This House Is Freakin' Sweet," Stephen Hawking, a renowned physicist is hired to help Chris with his homework. Interestingly, Hawking taps his right foot to the music despite the fact he was rendered a quadriplegic by motor neurone disease. (There's a remote possibility this is a reference to the movie Bob Roberts.)
  • When Peter greatly increases the bid on the vase from $200,000 to "one hundred mill-ion dollars!", he bites his pinky finger akin to Dr. Evil in "Austin Powers". The exaggeration of the term "hundred million dollars" may also be a reference to the movie "SWAT", where a French crime lord arrested in the United States announces an offer of "one hundred MEELION dollars" to anyone who could free him from captivity.
  • The Star Wars collector glass which Brian shows to Peter apparently depicts scenes from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. However, Luke is shown holding a green lightsaber, which he doesn't get until the next movie, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
  • Peter pronounces the name Coco, Lois' rich friend and member of the yacht club, as Caca, which is a slang term in Spain for excretia.
  • Stewie uses a hidden pistol- like weapon (resembles a Luger barrel) inside of Rupert. The two twins from The Shining were obliterated by a Chinese Type 69 RPG.
