The Shropnik Family drives all the way from Colorado to attends Meg's wedding to Bruce in "Meg's Wedding", with Peter feeling impressed that they made the drive. But when Meg calls off the ceremony, admitting she is aware that Bruce is gay, he proposes to his longtime boyfriend Jeffrey. However, the priest refuses to marry them in the church so the Shropniks start the 21 hour drive home.
