The Jetsons is a prime-time animated sitcom that was produced by Hanna-Barbera, originally airing from 1962–1963 and again from 1985-1987. It was Hanna-Barbera’s Space Age counterpart to The Flintstones, a half-hour family sitcom projecting contemporary American culture and lifestyle into another time period. While the Flintstones live in a world with machines powered by birds and dinosaurs, the Jetsons live in a futuristic utopia in the year 2062 of elaborate robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and whimsical inventions.

The original incarnation of the series aired Sunday nights on ABC from September 23, 1962, to March 3, 1963.

In "Brian in Love", George Jetson becomes angry with Jane for leaving him outside on the dog walk in a parody of the show's closing credits.

In "From Method to Madness", an adult Elroy Jetson is thrown out of a bar. He wants taxi driver Bamm-Bamm Rubble to take him to Astro's grave.

In "Meet the Quagmires", when Brian notes that in the original timeline that they didn't have flying cars, a cutaway has George stopping Jane for trying to take his wallet from him, instead of the money allowed. Later, as Peter tries to find a quick way to summon Death, her body crashes down beside himself and Brian as the sound of their flying car leaving can be heard.

In "Play It Again, Brian", an artist depicts Lois Griffin as Jane.

Elroy is one of the probes launched from the Imperial Star Destroyer in Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.

When Quagmire fires Peter from his cooking show in "Pilling Them Softly", he refuses to accept until fired directly by Mr. Spacely, George's boss. However, Mr. Spacely appears and fires Peter as well. Mr. Spacley is voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

In "Emmy-Winning Episode", sound effects heard by Peter in Dr. Hartman's office include The Flintstones running and The Jetsons flying car.

George is voiced by Seth MacFarlane in "Brian in Love" and by Jeff Bergman in "Meet the Quagmires".
