- The title of this episode is a reference to the third part of The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King; and to the TV show King of Queens.
- Coincidentally, the episode's air date of December 17, 2023 is the 20th anniversary of the release of the 2003 film adaptation of Return of the King.[1]
- Peter asks regarding Meg, "Who is this person who speaks to me as though I needed his advice?" and then throws her out a castle window, which Peter acknowledges is a very old movie reference, being Braveheart.[2]
- This scene is repeated several times.

- Peter answering his Netflix security question of his first concert he references a Smash Mouth concert from 2015 at a food festival where people were throwing pieces of bread at the band. [3]
- In order to get Kevin James back on network television, Chris pitches a show titled Big Wonder, a parody of Small Wonder.
- The old sitcom stars appearing out of the cornfield is an allusion to the film Field of Dreams.
- In the end of the episode after Stewie and Brian's pitch was rejected, Stewie goes to pitch Bakers Dozen to Scott Rudin who then throws a computer at Stewie in reference to when Rudin smashed his computer monitor on his assistant's hand. [4]
