Tom Devanney was a writer for Family Guy beginning with Season 4 when the producers were hiring new writers for the show's resurrection on television. His other writing TV credits include Perfect Strangers and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He is currently an executive producer for the show.
AIDS patient Mr. Devanney, to whom "You Have AIDS" by Peter Griffin and the Barbershop Quartet is dedicated in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire", is named after him.
