- Right before he's about to drink a cup of hot sauce on a dare, Peter says, "This is for all the teachers who told me I'd never amount to nothing!", which is a reference to the opening quote of The Notorious B.I.G.'s 1994 single "Juicy".[2]
- Chris' attempt at hacking is a reference to the film Wargames.
- Brian asks "Is this the park where Boner died?" Actor Andrew Koenig, who played Richard "Boner" Stabone on Growing Pains, committed suicide in a Vancouver park in 2010.
- Stewie's ball seat and dialog is a reference to Dwight's "fitness orb" in the episode "Performance Review" in The Office.[3]
