Plot:
While Peter is stuck spending a boring evening with the in-laws, Barbara Pewterschmidt recounts how she and Carter Pewterschmidt met and how she nearly married another suitor when Carter went missing in action during the war. When he decides to try to locate Carter so they can have dinner, Peter discovers him having an affair. Carter cowers him into keeping quiet. Later at The Drunken Clam, the guys convince him he should take advantage of the situation. Peter returns to the Pewterschmidts and is successful in turning the tables on Carter. After Carter gives in to his demands, Peter lets slip about Carter's affair in front of Barbara and Lois.
After Barbara announces she is divorcing Carter, Peter tries to get Carter interested in dating again. A girl finds Carter attractive, but when he orders a black bar patron to get him and the girls a drink, the girls call him racist and leave. Carter realizes how much he misses Barbara and begs Peter to help him get back with her. When they arrive at the mansion, they find Barbara's old flame has returned. Peter intercedes on Carter's behalf, giving him a chance to apologize. Barbara doesn't agree to remarry him but does agree to let him live with her again. At that moment, Peter finds a genie's lamp, but the end credits convince him to wait until next week.
